A little Local History:
Annapolis is home to the United States Naval Academy, which was founded in 1845 and it has played an important part in the development of the town. Street names like King George, Prince George and Duke of Gloucester reflect this Royal Heritage. It is a tribute to the people of Annapolis that since 1769, when the first theatre was opened, the performing arts have featured in the cultural life of the city. Today, Annapolis supports a thriving theatre scene with no less than six indoor performances and several outdoor shows annually.
